Advanced Marketing Services, a book distributor that supplies discount warehouse chains including Price Co., reported strong growth in earnings and sales for the second quarter and six months ended Sept. 30.
Net income for the three months was $693,000 on sales of $28.5 million, up from the profit of $460,000 on sales of $20.4 million over the same quarter the year before.
For the year to date, Advanced Marketing Services’ profit nearly doubled, to $1.2 million, from the $654,000 over the same two quarters last year. Year-to-date revenue stands at $54 million, up from $37.1 million at this time last year.
