Jerome Esbin, head of distribution for Tri-Star Pictures, has been named chief operating officer and senior executive vice president of Loews Theatre Management Corp. Both companies are owned by Columbia Pictures Entertainment, New York. William C. Soady, a longtime Universal Pictures distribution executive, is expected to be named Esbin’s successor as Tri-Star’s executive vice president-domestic sales. Soady announced his resignation from Universal in September.
