Valley fever has resulted in the death of a chimpanzee at Fresno Zoo. A 32-year-old female chimp called Pampy was found unable to stand on Nov. 1 and was treated with antibiotics, zoo director Dr. Paul Chaffee said. Her health kept declining, so the chimp was given a painless, fatal injection.
