UC Irvine Signs 6-8 Forward From Covina

Jeff Von Lutzow, a 6-foot 8-inch forward from Charter Oak High School in Covina, Thursday signed a letter of intent to attend UC Irvine. Von Lutzow, a 3-year starter who is the school’s career leader in rebounding and scoring, averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds a game last season.
Von Lutzow is the third player to sign with Irvine during the 10-day early signing period that began Wednesday. Mater Dei High School guard Dylan Rigdon and El Toro High forward Khari Johnson also signed early.
Coach Bill Mulligan and his staff have no scholarships left to offer for next season, so they can spend the next year scouting high school juniors.
