Turner Broadcasting System Inc. reported a third-quarter loss of $36.5 million, compared to a loss of $38.3 million for the year-ago period. The Atlanta-based firm’s revenue rose 31% to $198.7 million, and operating profit increased 22% to $23.2 million. Company officials attributed the improvement in part to a strong performance by its syndication and licensing unit.
