Local News in Brief : Teen-Ager Killed by Shots in Restaurant

Three suspected Vietnamese gang members stormed into a South El Monte restaurant after an earlier argument with several patrons and opened fire, killing a teen-ager and wounding a young man, authorities said Tuesday.
Cam Ly, 17, of Pomona died at a hospital shortly before midnight Monday, about 90 minutes after the shooting at Cafe Vi, a Vietnamese restaurant, Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Wehner said.
Thap Bui, 23, of Alhambra was shot wound in his left leg and was hospitalized in stable condition.
The shooting erupted about 10:15 p.m. when three gunmen in their 20s returned to the small Vietnamese restaurant several minutes after exchanging “harsh words” with a number of patrons, Wehner said.
