John Garcia Resigns as Orange Soccer Coach

John Garcia, boys’ soccer coach at Orange High School for the last 12 seasons, has resigned to take a job with the Orange Unified School District.
Garcia had a 110-69-34 record at Orange and his teams qualified for the Southern Section playoffs five times. Orange won the Pacific Coast League championship in 1987 and his teams advanced to the 2-A division semifinals in 2 of the last 3 seasons.
Garcia will be replaced by long-time assistant Ed Carrillo. Carrillo graduated from Orange in 1982 and played soccer at Chapman College. He will take over Nov. 28.
