Bellflower : Wind Causes Power Outage
About 100 Bellflower households were without electricity for almost six hours Monday when a strong wind blew a tree limb onto a power line, a Southern California Edison Co. official said.
The power blackout, which occurred about 9 a.m., according to residents, was limited to several city blocks near Ardmore Avenue in south Bellflower.
“We had an awful lot of tree limbs that fell because of the wind,” said Robert Hull of the Edison Co. The wind “gave us a great view of the mountains, but it also caused us the problem. We had a great number of customers lose power.”
Hull said that Edison crews restored power to the area by early afternoon. “The trucks were dispatched as soon as they heard about” the power outage, Hull said.
