Little did I know what a fool I was for making that special effort to get to the polls and register my vote here in California. Thanks to the media it was all over and decided before our polls were closed.
CNN informed me around 3 p.m. that George Bush was sweeping the Eastern states. The major networks got into the act as fast as they could.
I am appalled at the stupid comment a forgettable commentator made to the effect that it wouldn’t affect one candidate over the other. Both would lose votes by West Coast voters staying home.
Wonderful! Too bad we can’t tell that to Thomas Dewey.
I voted for George Bush but feel deflated to learn my vote wasn’t needed or worse yet, didn’t “count.”
