Local News in Brief : Presiding Municipal Court Judge Elected

Judge Larry Fidler has been elected presiding judge of the Los Angeles Municipal Court and Judge Jon Mayeda will succeed him as assistant presiding judge, the court said Wednesday.
The two judges, elected Tuesday by a majority of their more than 80 fellow municipal jurists, will take office Jan. 2 and serve one-year terms. Fidler will succeed Presiding Judge Richard A. Paez.
