Unhappy Candidate

Why did your writer, Anthony Perry, wait almost a year to publish a photo of my demonstration against an unfair newspaper (“Election Recollections,” Nov. 7)? Why insult me on the day after I have lost in a campaign where I had worked 22 months?
I believe your newspaper shirked its responsibility by not covering the 43rd Congressional District race. Your reporters failed to attend most of my press conferences and failed to allow me to publish my positions on issues, and ideas for our country.
Your reporters in both Orange County and San Diego County were unavailable, as reporters from all other newspapers were.
I believe in the freedom of the press and freedom of speech.
Your newspaper denied me my freedom of speech throughout a 22-month campaign--and then stooped to rub my face in the mud--on the day after! No wonder most people refuse to run for office.
