LONDON — American-born actress Koo Stark, a former girlfriend of Prince Andrew, won undisclosed damages today from two newspapers which had implied she helped to break up the marriage of television star Joan Collins.
The award follows libel damages of $534,000 ordered against the Sunday People newspaper on Nov. 3 for alleging Stark had had an affair with the prince after her 1984 marriage.
Stark’s lawyer, Keith Schilling, told the High Court that she had agreed to accept a cash settlement and end legal action against the mass circulation Daily Mirror. Stark will also receive undisclosed damages from The Sun tabloid over allegations linking her with Collins’ Swedish-born husband, Peter Holm, whom she has since divorced.
