Steve Crabb of Great Britain, eliminated in the semifinals of the 1,500 at the Seoul Olympics, won the men’s Manufacturers Hanover Corporate Challenge International Championship road race in New York. Crabb covered the 3.5-mile course in 16:15. Steve Bishop of Los Angeles was fifth in 16:34.
Jillian Dainty of Great Britain won the women’s title in 18:39. Katherine Kanes of Pasadena was second in 18:50.
