Pepperdine to Play Undefeated UCSB at Malibu Tonight

Pepperdine’s basketball team, which has won 4 consecutive games since losing its first 2, will play host to unbeaten UC Santa Barbara at 7:30 tonight at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu.

The Waves are coming off a 102-76 rout of UC Irvine. Pepperdine junior forward Dexter Howard scored a career-high 33 points against the Anteaters. He leads his team with averages of 21.2 points and 9.3 rebounds a game. The other forward, junior Tom Lewis, is averaging 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds.

The Gauchos edged Loyola Marymount at Santa Barbara, 95-94, on Dec. 1 and have also defeated Colorado, the University of San Diego and Southern Utah State. Junior guard Carrick DeHart, a Santa Monica High School graduate, is averaging 22 points a game and making 58.7% of his shots in leading the Gauchos.
