The two airlines that dominate Chicago’s O’Hare Airport agreed on flight schedule changes aimed at reducing the number of delays in and out of the airport next spring, the Federal Aviation Administration said. After two days of meetings, American Airlines and United Airlines agreed to stagger and more evenly distribute flights at O’Hare--the busiest airport in the nation--especially during heavy travel periods in the evening, officials said. “We’re pleased with the adjustments, which should provide a substantial reduction in delays we’ve been experiencing (at Chicago),” FAA spokesman Dick Stafford said. Most of the adjustments will go into effect March 1, when the airlines put their spring schedules into place.
