A jewelry store in Northridge Fashion Center was burglarized of an estimated $100,000 worth of rings, watches, diamonds and other jewelry, Los Angeles police said Friday.
One or more burglars broke into Hudson-Goodman Jewelers shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, Lt. Harvie Eubank said.
A rear door of the store was pried open and a battery-operated alarm was deactivated, but investigators have not determined how the burglar or burglars entered the mall, Eubank said.
Several glass display cases were smashed, and items were taken selectively, with the least valuable jewelry left behind, he said.
The store opened about a week ago.
