Lisa Longaker, who had a perfect game for four innings, finished with a two-hitter as UCLA beat Pacific 10 Conference rival Arizona, 3-0, to advance to the championship game of the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. Division I softball tournament Saturday night at Sunnyvale, Calif.
The Bruins scored the only run Longaker needed in the first inning. With one out, Lorraine Maynez doubled to left-center. She came around to score when second baseman Stephanie Salcido bobbled a grounder by Yvonne Gutierrez.
UCLA (47-4), the only unbeaten team in the double elimination tournament, plays Fresno State today at 1:30 p.m. If the Bulldogs win, a second game will follow.
Fresno State (58-13) kept its title hopes alive by eliminating Oklahoma State, 7-0, earlier Friday night. Shelley Stokes hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning, while Carie Dever (27-6) shut out Oklahoma State on five hits.
