San Francisco hiked its overtime parking fines to $25 in some neighborhoods, $20 downtown and $12 in the rest of the city. The Police Commission, in taking the action, rejected even stiffer increases proposed by Mayor Art Agnos. The previous fines were $20, $15 and $10. Fines for overtime parking and other non-moving violations raise more than $40 million annually for the city’s general fund. Last year nearly 3.2 million parking citations were issued in San Francisco.
