Century High Adds Five More Coaches to Staff

Century High School, which will open this fall in Santa Ana, has hired five coaches, Athletic Director Bob Halford said Friday.
Tom Denny will coach water polo and boys’ and girls’ swimming, as he did at Ocean View last year. Denny, who previously coached at Edison and Fountain Valley, also will teach physical science at Century.
Nadine Halle will coach girls’ volleyball, girls’ basketball and softball as she did at Willard Intermediate in Santa Ana the last two years. She was an assistant varsity basketball coach at Tustin and junior varsity softball coach at Irvine while completing her student teaching in 1986-87.
Larry Nichol will coach boys’ soccer, Manuel Palacio will coach girls’ soccer and Merilee Hauser will coach girls’ tennis.
