Bilzerian Denies Charges: Former Singer Co. Chairman Paul A. Bilzerian denied charges made by the SEC in a civil suit filed last week that he has transferred assets out of the United States to prevent the government from recovering more than $31 million in profit it says he made from an unsuccessful takeover attempt for Hammermill Paper Co. and other investments. “I do not have any assets located outside the United States,” Bilzerian said in papers filed with the U.S. District Court in Washington.
