The Orange County-based James Harman Band has been nominated for awards in three categories by the Blues Foundation, a Memphis-based organization that sponsors the annual W.C. Handy Awards. The band’s album “Extra Napkins” is one of 24 nominees for contemporary blues album of the year (the competition includes Robert Cray, Etta James and Willie Dixon). Harman, who plays harmonica, is one of 19 candidates in the miscellaneous instrumentalist of the year category, and the Harman Band is among 19 contenders for Blues Band of the Year.
