Softball Roundup : Sciarrino Helps Ballhawks Win 2

Lisa Sciarrino of Western High School had three hits and four RBIs to help the Southern California Ballhawks win twice Friday in the second round of the American Softball Assn. National championships in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Stephanie Smith of Garden Grove High School pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts as the Ballhawks defeated the Whiteford, Ill., Sharks, 4-0. Sciarrino had two hits and drove in two runs.
Sciarrino had a two-run triple as the Ballhawks defeated the Pittsburg Patriots, 4-0, earlier Friday. Pam Barr of Diamond Bar High School pitched a two-hitter.

Gordon’s Panthers 5, Northern California Tremors 0--DeeDee Weiman pitched a five-hitter with 13 strikeouts to lead the Panthers, a team based in Cypress and LaPalma, in the third round. Ivy Pinkerton of Western had two hits as the Panthers defeated New York Debs, 16-0, earlier Friday.
Gordon’s Panthers and the Orange County Batbusters both won second-round games of the ASA 16-and-under national championship in Midland, Tex.
The Panthers defeated the Illinois Sparks, 6-0. The Batbusters defeated the Oregon Blue Heat, 10-1.
