I have heard it asked why “Love Connection” feels compelled to match up only those of the same race. This indicates a narrow-minded view that does not correspond to the times in which we live, especially in a multi-ethnic state such as California. There are those who believe that a change of policy would spark a new interest for many and bring a new twist to an otherwise enjoyable program. There are various ways in which this change could be implemented. One starting point could be asking on the written application if there is any objection to one of the three choices including someone of a different race. Though “Love Connection” is already a popular program, I think its ratings would increase by crossing racial barriers.
