Pepperdine Beats SDSU in Volleyball

San Diego State’s women’s volleyball team was defeated by Pepperdine, 8-15, 15-5, 15-12, 8-15, 15-7, Wednesday night in Malibu. Angela Martin led the Aztecs with 13 kills, and teammate Shannon Mathew added 12.
Pepperdine evened its record to 1-1; SDSU dropped to 2-3.
SOCCER
The University of San Diego men’s team defeated Cal State Stanislaus 3-1 in a nonconference game at USD. Leo Bonces, Tom Crane and Andrew Kummer had a goal apiece as the Toreros improved to 2-1. Jose Ramos scored for Stanislaus (0-1) on a penalty kick.
