Boston Celtics star Larry Bird was married to Dinah Mattingly of Indianapolis in a private ceremony, the manager of Bird’s restaurant in Terre Haute, Ind., said.

The ceremony took place at the home of Terre Haute businessman Max Gibson, according to Glen Ankney. Bird, Gibson and Ankney are partners in a Terre Haute hotel-restaurant complex called Larry Bird’s Boston Connection.
