Hycor Biomedical Inc. posted a 36% increase in net income for the third quarter, to $231,000 from $170,000 for the comparable 1988 quarter. Sales rose 20%, to $2.2 million from $1.9 million. For the nine-month period, net income was up 25%, to $638,000 from $509,000 a year ago. Sales totaled $6.9 million, 13% higher than the $6.1 million reported for the first three quarters in 1988. Richard D. Hamill, president and chief executive, said foreign markets were especially strong, and several new products were introduced in the third quarter. Hycor Biomedical, with headquarters in Garden Grove, manufactures diagnostic products.
