Viewers can follow the law in a big way this week.

Three programs that deal with various phases of law enforcement can be found on commercial and cable TV.

First comes “Do You Know the Muffin Man?,” a new TV movie airing Sunday at 9 p.m. on CBS (Channels 2 and 8). It concerns a police officer (John Shea) who independently tries to gather evidence after his son (Brian Bonsall) reveals that he was the victim of abuse at his day-care center. Pam Dawber plays the boy’s mother.

On Saturday at 8 p.m., HBO presents “Perfect Witness.” In this made-for-cable movie, a New York City restaurant owner (Aidan Quinn) who witnesses a gangland murder is pressured by two attorneys (Brian Dennehy, Stockard Channing) into testifying before a grand jury.

Then Saturday at 9 p.m. on ABC (Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42), Telly Savalas--who is profiled on Page 7--returns to prime time as New York city detective Theo Kojak. Four new two-hour dramas featuring “Kojak,” who has been promoted to inspector, will rotate with “Columbo,” “B.L. Stryker” and “Christine Cromwell,” starring Jaclyn Smith, on the “ABC Saturday Mystery.”
