Out From the Shadows: “Shadowlands,” the critically-acclaimed Broadway play about the love affair between British writer C. S. Lewis and American poet Joy Davidman, will become a movie. Columbia Pictures has acquired the rights to and will produce a feature based on the play, which enjoyed success on the London stage before opening in New York this fall. The play was recently named London’s 1990 Evening Standard Play of the Year. Film production is set to begin later this year.
