Cher’s House Plans Called ‘Ludicrous’
I think it is ludicrous that Cher is building a 15,822-square-foot house in Malibu (Times, Jan. 13). Doesn’t this woman, who is active in trying to save the environment, realize how many trees will be destroyed to provide the wood to build this humongous home? Doesn’t she realize how much energy it will take to air-condition such a place?
Those who campaign to save the environment should begin in their own back yard. The way to stop the stripping of the forests is to stop using the materials recklessly.
I’m sure Cher doesn’t buy fur coats or ivory, because she realizes that is what causes the killing of animals. The same logic should be applied to the building of homes, so we can stop using up these precious resources.
