El Toro 70, Irvine 62--One El Toro player guarded John Molle and the Chargers used a matchup zone to slow Irvine’s offense. Rob Johnson scored 36 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the host Chargers (12-12, 4-6).
Capistrano Valley 71, Mission Viejo 45--Guard Tom Airey made three three-point shots, finishing with 117 three-pointers in the regular season. Airey needs eight three-point shots in the playoffs to tie former Glendora star Tracy Murray’s Southern Section single-season mark of 125.
