Racquetball Event Holds No Surprises

Form prevailed in the big matches Saturday during the Heartbreakers Open racquetball tournament at Racquetball World in Canoga Park.
The four seeded players in both men’s and women’s classifications stormed into the semifinal round without losing a game. In the women’s semifinals, played Saturday evening, Mae Chin-Varon of Tarzana defeated fourth-seeded Bev Supanick of Bakersfield, and Dee Ferreira-Worth of Anaheim Hills stopped third-seeded Holly Gray of Irvine to set up a noon championship match today between the top-seeded women.
Bret Harnett of Las Vegas will play Mike Martinez of Tustin today, and Mike Bronfeld of Santa Barbara will test Andy Gross of Brentwood.
The title match is set for 2 p.m.
