COMMUNITY COLLEGE WOMEN’S PLAYOFFS : Sirchia Scores 17; Golden West Rolls

Bits Sirchia scored 17 points as Golden West College won its 23rd consecutive game, defeating College of the Desert, 69-49, in a first-round game of the Southern California Regional basketball playoffs Wednesday at Golden West.
Golden West (31-1) has won 31 consecutive home games. Dawn Haag scored 14 points, Jenny Sullivan scored 12 and Jennifer Harney and Allison Bickel each had cored 10 for Golden West.
In another playoff game:
L.A. Pierce 61, Fullerton 57--L.A. Pierce scored the final four points of the game to upset third-seeded Fullerton (23-7).
