About That Respect: Comedian Rodney Dangerfield has filed a multimillion dollar libel suit against the Star tabloid newspaper, charging that it knowingly printed false, misleading and defamatory statements about him. The suit was filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court by attorney Barry B. Langberg, who successfully sued the National Enquirer on behalf of Carol Burnett. The story in the Star said Dangerfield engaged in “socially unacceptable behavior” at various hotels in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. The Star also repeated some similar charges made against Dangerfield in a case that he brought against Caesars Palace. Dangerfield won a $725,000 jury award in that action.
