Columbia Guard Beubis Earns Honor

Columbia University guard Jenny Beubis, Alemany High’s all-time leading scorer, was selected to the All-Ivy League second team.
Beubis, a 5-foot-7 senior, scored her 1,000th career point against Princeton and became the Lions’ fifth all-time leading scorer.
She averaged 12.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and nearly four assists a game.
Valley College is planning a function for retiring Athletic Director George Goff that will be held at the end of spring.
Goff was at Birmingham High from 1957-63 and coached football, baseball and track. He coached the Valley football team from 1964 to 1971. From 1973 to the present, he was the athletic director at Valley.

A benefit basketball game between members of the Los Angeles Raiders and the Cleveland High faculty and staff will be held April 5 at 7 p.m. at the Cleveland High gymnasium.
Proceeds will benefit the Cavaliers’ athletic department.
The Master’s College will conduct a volleyball coaches clinic at its Newhall campus gym April 27 and May 4.
Dean Conk, the Master’s women’s volleyball coach, will direct the clinic, which is open to coaches of all boys’ and girls’ teams.
The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
