Motorcyclist Dies in Trabuco Road Crash

MISSION VIEJO — A local man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle here, authorities said.
Richard Olsen, 18, of Mission Viejo died about 11:50 p.m. Friday after swerving on Trabuco Road, just south of Alicia Parkway, to avoid a vehicle pulling out of a driveway, Sheriff’s Lt. Randy Blair said Saturday.
Olsen, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was traveling at a speed approaching 85 m.p.h. just before he spotted the other motorist, Blair said.
Although the other vehicle stopped, Olsen “panicked and lost control” of his motorcycle, which tumbled and slid several hundred feet up the road, Blair said.
