Man Fatally Shot at Convenience Store

A Duarte man was shot and killed Tuesday while working alone at a convenience store on Sunset Boulevard in the Los Feliz area, police said.

Murali Nagasamudra, 35, was shot once in the chest by an unknown assailant about 11 p.m. at a 7-Eleven store at 5076 W. Sunset, Los Angeles Police Detective Ron Whitt said.

Whitt said police were notified of the shooting by an anonymous caller. The cash register was full of money when police arrived, and a search of the store by the owner revealed nothing missing, police said.

Whitt said Nagasamudra was killed instantly. There were no witnesses and police have no suspects, he said. Although nothing was taken, robbery had not been ruled out as a possible motive, Whitt said.
