Pasadena : City Hall Reorganization
City Manager Philip Hawkey will directly control a four-person auditing team from the Finance Department in one of the organizational changes approved Tuesday by the city directors.
The changes will improve city spending controls, reduce the risk of overspending and keep track of services, Hawkey said. The changes were prompted, in part, by past cost overruns on the police and Hale buildings.
Other changes include moving the city Purchasing Division to the Finance Department, creating divisions to oversee maintenance and operations, construction and renovation, and changing the name of the Administrative Services Agency to the General Services Department.
