PREP ROUNDUP : Valencia Beats Brea in Tennis, Stays Unbeaten

Valencia remained unbeaten in Orange League play as the Tigers defeated Brea-Olinda, 17-1, in a boys’ tennis match Friday at Valencia High School.
Robert Bae and Huey Dang swept, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, in doubles and Nick Lovric swept, 6-2, 6-0, 6-1, in singles for Valencia (11-4, 6-0 in league).
In another Orange League tennis match:
Magnolia 14, Anaheim 4--Dan Smithline swept, 6-2, 6-0, 6-3, Chanderdeep Shinh swept, 6-4, 6-2, 6-1, in singles and Tan Nguyen and Phuong Nguyen swept, 6-2, 6-0, 6-1, in doubles for host Magnolia (3-3, 3-3).
In Empire League tennis:
Esperanza 11, Loara 7--The doubles team of Alex Conter and Bryan Ritz won, 6-2, 6-3, 6-1, for host Esperanza (16-0, 7-0). Cameran Lindee won, 7-6, 6-3, 6-2, for Loara (14-2, 5-2). In Sea View League boys’ tennis:
University 12, Corona del Mar 6--Joey Frantz swept, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2, for visiting University (17-1, 9-0), which won the Sea View League title with the victory.
In South Coast League tennis:
San Clemente 9, Irvine 9 (San Clemente wins on games 82-74)--Corey Beacham swept in singles, 6-3, 7-5, 6-1, and Sonny Lam and Lenny Perez swept in doubles, 6-4, 6-4, 6-0, for host Irvine.
In nonleague tennis:
Westminster 14, Los Amigos 4--Steve Swanson won in singles, 6-4, 6-0, 6-3, for host Westminster (6-10).
