In other Garden Grove League games:
Rancho Alamitos 1, Pacifica 0--Sophomore right-hander Destiny Mollison (10-11) pitched her third no-hitter of the season for visiting Rancho Alamitos (10-14, 7-7), which qualified for the playoffs for the first time. Rancho Alamitos tied Pacifica for third place in league but advances to the playoffs based on head-to-head records. In the Angelus League:
Mater Dei 2, St. Joseph 1 (19 innings)--In the longest game in Mater Dei history, the Monarchs won when Jennifer Cline led off the 19th inning with a single and eventually scored on a wild pitch. Jennifer Clark pitched 17 innings, allowing five hits and striking out eight, and Marie O’Beck (1-0) got the victory in hitless relief for Mater Dei (18-6, 8-0).
Santa Margarita 1, Rosary 0--Michelle Methot singled, stole second and third base, and scored on a passed ball for host Santa Margarita (7-18, 2-6) in the sixth inning. LiseDelligatta (2-8) pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts for Santa Margarita.
In the Empire League:
Cypress 3, Loara 0--Lisa Chad (3-5) pitched a no-hitter for host Cypress (12-9, 5-5).
In the Freeway League:
La Habra 8, Troy 1--Stefanie Bakke had a hit, scored twice and had two RBIs and Dee Dee Miranda had two hits, scored twice and had one RBI for visiting La Habra (20-3, 10-0).
In the Olympic League:
Whittier Christian 4, Capistrano Valley Christian 0--Freshman Deborah Goddu pitched her second no-hitter of the week, striking out five and walking none for visiting Whittier Christian (10-7, 10-4), which finished second. In the Pacific Coast League:
Trabuco Hills 22, Century 0 (five innings, mercy rule)--Danny Rodriguez had a two-run home run in an eight-run first inning and Emily Leckey had four hits and five RBIs for visiting Trabuco Hills (17-11, 9-1), which finished in a tie for first with Laguna Hills.
In the Sea View League:
Woodbridge 3, Tustin 1--Alison Ward (10-5) pitched a two-hitter, had a hit and scored for visiting Woodbridge (20-6, 10-0). Alison Johnsen stole three bases to bring her Southern Section-leading total to 35.
In the Sunset League:
Ocean View 1, Huntington Beach 0--Jennifer Rousey’s leadoff home run in the fifth inning was the only hit for host Ocean View (14-6, 7-5). Stephanie Noffsinger struck out 12 for Huntington Beach (13-11, 9-3), which despite the loss won its first league championship as co-champion with Fountain Valley.
