Home-Building Permits at Six-Month High: California housing production, as measured by permits issued, is moving at the fastest pace since last September as builders respond to revived consumer spending, the California Building Industry Assn. reported. During March, builders filed for 11,176 permits for single-family and multifamily units, a 69.8% increase over February, the association said.
