USF&G; Shareholders File Suit: Shareholders are suing USF&G; Corp. and three former officers of the company, charging them with misleading investors by gambling on high-risk investments while the insurance company faced financial disaster. A class-action suit filed in U.S. District Court in Baltimore combines earlier complaints and lawsuits filed by 18 plaintiffs from Florida to Maine after the company reported $569 million in losses and a drastic dividend reduction last fall. USF&G; spokeswoman Kerrie Burch-DeLuca declined to comment.
