Two men accused of killing a Thousand Oaks woman in a drive-by shooting last month pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Ventura County Superior Court.
The trial of Scott M. Kastan, 18, and Patrick Strickland, 22, was scheduled Nov. 1 before Judge Lawrence Storch. They are accused of killing Jennifer Jordan, 20, who was struck by a bullet fired from a passing car as she stood outside a house on Houston Drive.
Investigators said the men are gang members who intended to kill a rival gang member and hit Jordan instead. They are also charged with attempted murder.
The defendants are being held in the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail each.
