MIDYEAR: The Angels snapped out of a slump Sunday with a 10-2 win over the Yankees (C1). Now four games behind West-leading Minnesota, the Angels have sagged since last week’s All-Star break, when they were two games behind the Rangers and the Twins (above). The bad news: History shows that most teams in first at the break have eventually won the division. This is especially true in the AL West, where 71% of the midsummer leaders have gone on to win.
