An Oxnard man reported missing in Los Padres National Forest was found early Wednesday after an 11-hour search, sheriff’s deputies said.
Patrick J. Miskel, 28, was found about four miles from a cabin on Pine Mountain where he had been staying with friends, Lt. Mike Gullon said.
Miskel apparently left the cabin for a hike Tuesday morning and had not returned by nightfall. He was reported missing at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Gullon said.
Thirty searchers, including a helicopter crew and a canine tracking team, looked for Miskel, deputies said.
He was found shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday with a sprained ankle, cuts and bruises, Gullon said. Miskel told rescuers that he became lost and was unable to continue walking after he twisted his ankle. His injuries were treated by paramedics, deputies said.
