I want to commend Michael Parrish on his objective reporting regarding the environmental conditions in the Gulf (“The Spoils of War,” June 23).
It’s about time that the media stopped parroting all the dire predictions of the environmental community and base their reports on substantiated facts. The environmentalists’ ploy is to bring everyone to heel by using scare tactics and terrorism.
The environmental community is genuinely disappointed that their prediction of nuclear winter is not happening and the damage to the wildlife and the ecosystem is not nearly as severe as they had prophesied (or hoped).
If their claims and assertions continue to go unchallenged and unchecked, there indeed will be a major world disaster, an economic one!
