Gift to LATC: The financially beleaguered Los Angeles Theatre Center on Wednesday received a $5,000 gift from the powerful William Morris Agency on behalf of its chairman, Norman Brokaw. But the gift still left the downtown theater complex perilously short of its goal of raising $250,000 in cash by the weekend or face the prospect of closing Sunday. The Brokaw gift brought the total raised in a marathon fund-raising campaign this week to $81,000.
