Los Angeles City Councilman Richard Alatorre and Assemblywoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Los Angeles) will speak at the Sept. 7 reunion of the Mexican American Alumni Chapter of Cal State Los Angeles.
Alatorre will discuss the chapter’s impact on the university and the community, and Roybal-Allard will explain budget cuts affecting the state university system. The meeting will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. at the home of Jean Champommier and Marie Torres, 2116 Joan Drive, Hacienda Heights. Tickets are $35.
The chapter was founded in 1985 to promote Latino interests at Cal State, to support campus activities affecting Latino students and faculty and to enhance the visibility of Latinos with the university administration.
