Alhambra : Computerized Tickets
Beginning in September, the city will use hand-held computers to issue parking tickets, which officials say is a more efficient method because it reduces human error.
But officials warn that the computer-generated tickets may be mistaken for scrap paper at first--they’re only 2 1/2 by 7 inches and look like multicolored grocery receipts.
At the scene of a parking violation, meter monitors will enter information into the computer, which then prints out the ticket in a matter of moments.
There is no extra cost to the city because Enforcement Technology Inc., which already processes parking citations, is providing the computers.
