Senate Rebuke of Cranston
Your coverage of the Senate session was complete. It brought up some disturbing questions, however, the first of which is, what happened to our standards of right and wrong?
Cranston’s defense seems to be “there’s nothing wrong because I know other senators who have done the same thing.” If I’m ever indicted for, let’s say, bank robbery, I would think my knowledge of other bank robbers would be a very weak defense.
I wish I could agree with Heflin that the matter is ended. The people who lost money through dealings with Lincoln Savings wouldn’t agree.
