An El Cajon baby-sitter was ordered Tuesday to stand trial for murder in the death of a 10-month-old girl who suffered a skull fracture.
El Cajon Police Detective Gary Sper testified at the preliminary hearing that a witness told him that Karen Amy Drouillard, 21, admitted throwing the baby on the floor.
Drouillard is accused of killing Lizzabeth Rosado on Sept. 23. The woman lived with the infant and the girl’s mother, Kelly Luellen, in El Cajon, and had been baby-sitting the child.
San Diego Municipal Judge Frank Brown ordered Drouillard to next appear in court Dec. 17 to set a trial date. She has pleaded not guilty.
The child’s mother was not called to testify.
Drouillard remains in the Las Colinas Jail in Santee in lieu of $100,000 bail.
